Real name is Parveen Wali Mohammad Khan Babi
Was born at 4 April 1949 in Junagadh, Gujarat, India . Died at 20 January 2005, Juhu, Bombay, Maharashtra, India (accidental overdose)

Junagad born and raised, Ms. Babi was spotted by renowed B. R. Ishara atAhmedabad University, and he approached her to act in his forthcomingmovie, Charitraheen, which was a sequel to Chetna.

Her co-star in thismovie was none other than renowed Indian cricketer Salim Durrani. Sincethen there has no looking back for this gorgeous, tall, and long-leggedactress, sometimes referred to as the "poor man's Zeenat Aman". ParveenBabi has lit up the silver screen with her charming looks andpersonality since the 1970s. Among her more memorable movies with megastar Amitabh Bachchan are:Deewar, Namak Halal, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Kala Pathar. Her mostglorious moment was when Time Magazine chose to display her photographon their cover page in 1976, depicting the changing face of Bollywoodand Bollywood actresses.

After acting in her last movie, Akarshan, she suddenly disappeared frompublic view and became more or less a recluse. It is known that shetook up interior designing, and had a very close circle of friends. She then left for the United States of America and was not seen norheard for about 10 years. When she returned after that period of time, she was barely recognizable, as she had put on considerable weight. She created a stir when she filed a writ petition in the Bombay HighCourt, charging several dignitaries, including Bollywood actor, AmitabhBachchan, for attempting to kill her.

This petition was dismissed bythe Court for want of evidence. On Sunday January 22, 2005, neighbors at her Juhu residence noticed thatshe not collected her milk nor her newspapers from her doorstep for thelast three days. The neighbors notified the Secretary of the building, who in turn notified the police. On Saturday January 22, 2005, a police team opened the door to herapartment with a duplicate key, and found her dead body. The police believe that the door had been locked from the inside forlast three days, and suspect no foul play.

Ms. Babi was an only child in a noble Junagad-based family. Her dad hadpassed away when she was very young, and her mom also passed awayseveral years ago. .
