Actress and stage director Amanda Banffy was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Bachelor in Scenic Arts at ECA-USP (School for Communication and Arts -University of São Paulo), Amanda studied Theater at CPT, a course byAntunes Filho, in São Paulo, and studied at a workshop by ArianeMnouchkine (Theatre du Soleil). Her first works were in 1997, sincewhen Amanda did not interrupt them. She was director assistant forBrazilian director Antunes Filho in the production of "PolicarpoQuaresma" and before that experience she has already directed severalstage play productions during her years in University, among them "TheRespected Whore" by Jean-Paul Sartre, in 2006.
As an actress, Amandaworked at very recent plays as "Chronicles by a Brown Cat" (2011), aplay written and directed by Mauricio Fülber and "Millers does notOverfly Halogen Lamps" (2010), written and directed by Paula Chagas andMarcos Gomes. Amanda acted as one of the female leading roles in twofeature films, one of them is "Fluid" (2009), directed by AlexandreCarvalho, and made a participation in "Two Rabbits" (2011), a filmdirected by Afonso Poyart. She also worked in ad films for WhiskyFestival, Skol and others companies, beyond her appearances in severalshort films and institutional video productions. .
