Claire was born in NYC and raised in Providence Rhode Island. Shereceived a BFA in Acting from Carnegie-Mellon University andsubsequently worked in regional theatre and Off-Broadway for 20 yearsbefore co-founding Brave New World Repertory Theatre with her husbandJohn Edmond Morgan. She served as BNW's first producing artisticdirector from 2003-2012. Known for her site-specific re-imaginings ofclassics, Claire directed acclaimed productions of To Kill aMockingbird, The Tempest, The Crucible, Street Scene and On theWaterfront in environmental settings from Park Slope to Coney Island.
BNW is a company of Brooklyn-based theatre professionals dedicated tocreating dynamic productions of classic plays, as well as new works byBrooklyn writers. The company performs in unique and historic Brooklynvenues, reaching out to under-served audiences to promote a love oftheatre. .
