Gained a degree in Computing Science from Aberdeen University in 1993before working for two small management consultancies, one specialisingin business process redesign and the other in corporate communicationscampaigns. During this time, she set up an office in Melbourne andworked on consultancy projects in Vietnam and Brussels for clientsincluding BP and Shell. She also qualified as a Quality Assurance LeadAssessor and began studying towards an MBA. For most of her life, Debbie had been involved with bands and amateurmusical theatre groups, so eventually she took the plunge and changedcareer path to follow her lifelong ambition to work as a professionalperformer.
In 1999 she graduated in Acting with Musical Theatre fromGuildford School of Acting, winning the musical theatre prize for beingthe most outstanding student on the course that year. She enjoyed asuccessful career as an actress and singer for a number of years,starring in numerous productions including the 3rd UK tour of "What AFeeling!", alongside Limahl (Kajagoogoo) and Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce)and played the dual roles of Shania Twain and LeAnn Rimes in the UKtour of "Legends of Country". In 2003, Debbie met her (now) husband and eventually 'retired' fromtouring full time and left London to live with him in Norwich, whereshe became the lead singer and joint business partner with him in hisband at that time, which has now become the Debbie Boyd Band. .
