Danny Le Boyer was born in Bien Hao, South Vietnam. His father JeanBoyer was a Colonel and Commander of the 518th fighter Squadron for thePeoples Republic of Vietnam. Due to the fall of Saigon, his mother BaNguyen fled the country with Danny and his younger sister ChristyBoyer. They left on a Military C-130 transport aircraft, and hadsurvived over 3000 mortar rounds fired at the airbase the previousnight.
His Father Jean Boyer stayed behind to lead his men, only to betaken prisoner after the fall of Saigon, and became a P. O. W. for thenext 13 years. Relocating to the United States Danny grew up in the Santa Clara Valleyin California.
Danny started his martial arts training at the age of 8first with Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and later Jui jit su. His success ledhim to a Silver Medal in the California State Tae Kwon Do Championshipat the age of 18, and he was the Kenpo Karate Grand National Champion. Danny has also competed in various Full Force Open Mixed Martial Artscompetitions winning 1st place in his division. Dannys aunt Wynne Wicker worked on Apocalypse Now with director FrancisFord Coppola as his Vietnamese Technical Advisor. Apocalypse now won 2Oscars along with 14 other wins and 32 nominations.
Wynne Wicker alsoworked on Platoon with director Oliver Stone as his VietnameseTechnical Advisor. Platoon later went on to win 4 Oscars along with 18other wins and another 9 nominations. Inspired by his aunts work Danny Le Boyer pursued a career in Film. Danny got his big break in Hollywood in 2000 when he received acallfrom Stephen McEveety, one of Mel Gibsons producing partners atICON Productions, to come work on the film We Were Soldiers, directedby Randall Wallace. Danny worked on the project as the backgroundcasting director and Vietnamese Technical Advisor.
We Were Soldierslater won the ASCAP Award for Top Box Office Films and 5 othernominations. Danny went on to work in Hollywood as a stuntman, stunt double, actor,and more recently as a stunt coordinator. Danny has worked on majorblockbuster hits such as The Last Samurai with director Edward Zwick,and actors Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe. Inception with directorChristopher Nolan, and actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gorden-Levitt,Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Ken Watanabe. Danny Le Boyer has worked as an actor alongside Johnny Depp GeoffreyRush, Penelope Cruz, and Ian McShane on the much anticipated sequel inthe Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise, On Stranger Tides, directedthis time by Rob Marshall and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
In 2007 Danny was nominated by the Screen Actors Guild Awards forOutstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a motion picture on thefilm Pirates of the Caribbean, At Worlds End. In 2010 Danny was nominated and won the Screen Actors Guild Awards forOutstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a motion picture for thefilm Inception. .
